208.255.3031 Schweitzer Mountain Resort Opens New Lifts and Additional TerrainBasin Express and Lakeview Triple to open on Saturday, December 8 Sandpoint, ID – Schweitzer Mountain Resort opens more terrain and lifts on Saturday, December 8th. The Basin Express high speed quad and the Lakeview Triple are opening, allowing access to the top of Schweitzer Bowl. From the top, Ridge Run will be open but not the steep chutes of Schweitzer Bowl. This is the first time that these two brand new lifts will be open to the public. “We are excited to offer the services of our two new lifts to our guests this weekend,” said Tom Chasse, Schweitzer’s CEO and President. “It’s been a great first couple of days of the season at Schweitzer and we’re now ready to gear up and expand our services for the weekend.” The Basin Express loading area is conveniently located in the heart of Schweitzer Village, eliminating the hike that was necessary to load the former Chair One. From the unload of the Basin Express, skiers and snowboarders will ride down a short hill to load onto the Lakeview Triple if they wish to proceed to the top of the mountain. Lift ticket prices are reduced to $35 for adults eighteen and older, and $25 for people under eighteen. Children six and under ski and ride for free, and lift tickets for Musical Chairs only remain at $20. As more of Schweitzer’s terrain and lifts open during the coming weeks, more information will be available at Schweitzer.com or on their snow phone at 208 263 9562.
