Schweitzer Mountain 50th Anniversary
Founders Day Celebration

Founders Day is a celebration of all those people who made the resort happen. We plan to celebrate with all of the amazing people that have had an impact on our development and growth over the past 50 years. It’s difficult to single out a few individuals when so many have helped out along the way, but we hope to recognize those who started it all.

As we celebrate our Founders, we are hoping to compile stories of the special days on this magical mountain from a variety of perspectives including staff members, guests, contractors and investors who shaped our future. Things like the best powder day ever, the day you met your best friend, the birthdays spent here, weddings, engagements etc.

We’ll have a giant timeline set up in the Caribou Room for you to add your stories, photos and memories. We will have birthday cake, a short re-dedication ceremony, open the 1988 time capsule from the Snow Ghost Chairlift and finish with live music in Taps. The designs of the shirt show finalists and the printed winning shirts will be displayed in the Caribou Room along with special commemorative items including a reproduction of a vintage poster.  Of course the mountain will be open to celebrate and lift tickets are specially priced at $19.63. They are available at the window or online.
