$10 Lift Tickets at Schweitzer to Benefit Local Cancer Patients
Community Cancer Services and Schweitzer present A Day for Heather on December 10th
Sandpoint, ID – Sandpoint’s Community Cancer Services and Schweitzer Mountain Resort will team up to offer $10 lift tickets all day and raise funds for those with cancer in the community. 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated.
Tickets are available for purchase in town starting this Saturday, December 4th at Sandpoint Sports, Panhandle State Bank, and Pend d'Oreille Winery. As always, tickets will also be available at Schweitzer on December 10th.
“This event is so rewarding to host,” said Schweitzer Events Director, Mary Weber-Quinn. “It’s great to see how many people turn out each year to support Sandpoint and the local cancer community.”
Weather permitting Schweitzer Mountain Resort plans to open the Outback Bowl for the first time this season and operate 7 lifts including everything but the T-bar and the Sunnyside Double. Lifts will run from 9am – 3:30pm.
Community Cancer Services is a local resource and information center for cancer patients and their families. It provides both financial and emotional support during what can be the most challenging time in a person’s life. The organization offers support including travel assistance, prescription assistance and counseling.
A Day for Heather is named in memory of Heather Gibson, founder of Community Cancer Services, a member of the Schweitzer ski family and an advocate for cancer patients. This is the fifth year for the annual event.
