Sandpoint-Friday, December 11, Schweitzer held its fourth annual Day for Heather. Despite limited terrain and early season conditions, the mountain saw a great turnout. Schweitzer skiers and riders took a break from their typical Friday activities to get out on the slopes and donate to a great cause.
Schweitzer offered lift tickets for $10 all day Friday and 100% of the proceeds were donated to Community Cancer Services of Sandpoint. Tickets were purchased not only by day skiers and riders, but by season pass holders and employees as well – simply to contribute to the cause – an act that seems to be a trend in this community.
The event raised $8300, bringing the total to over $68,000 raised on A Day for Heather and donated to Community Cancer Services of Sandpoint in the last four years.
