Huckleberry Happiness Celebrated at Schweitzer Mountain Resort
August Festival is One Huck of a Good Time
Sandpoint, ID – Schweitzer’s 4th annual Huckleberry Festival takes place August 1, 2010. From 8am -4pm tongues will be dyed purple and finger tips stained violet as festival goers devour huckleberry pancakes and embark on huckleberry hikes. Schweitzer happily brings back The Huckleberry Jam Band for this free festival of fruit.
Be sure to arrive early as breakfast kicks off at 8am with huckleberry pancakes. Shortly after, at 9am, hosted huckleberry hikes will depart, led by picking experts to the secret stashes. Village activities begin at 11am including crafts, t-shirt tie dying, a huckleberry pie eating contest and lots of fun for all the kids.
“My kids look forward to this festival every year” said Dave Kulis, Marketing Director and father of 3. “Their tie-dyed shirts become an instant favorite in their wardrobe.”
Arts and crafts vendors will be scattered around the village amongst the inescapable aroma of gourmet hot dogs.
As always, Schweitzer will have the lift spinning from 11am – 5pm for scenic chairlift rides, and access to downhill biking, hiking and disc golf. Bike rentals will be available in The Source along with great deals on winter outerwear.
