Schweitzer hosts Mountain Music Festival on July 17th
An Abundance of Live Music, Food and Drink, and Mountains of Fun
Sandpoint, ID – Saturday, July 17. At Schweitzer Mountain Resort there is always a certain enthusiastic energy present in the village. Combine that with great live music from three different bands, barbeque, a beer garden and activities for all ages and you have yourself an action packed Saturday at Schweitzer’s free Mountain Music Festival on July 17, 2010 from 11am till 8pm.
The festival features live music from three great bands. Tony Furtado will lead off the afternoon at 2pm with his unique sound of rock, Americana, folk and pop music; followed by the bluegrass group Columbia at 4pm, and Head for the Hills, winners of the Yonder Mt. String Band’s 2007 Northwest String Summit Band Competition, will close the evening with a performance from 6pm till 8pm.
Schweitzer sets the ambiance for the day’s activities with a barbeque beginning at 11am. The chairlift will be operating from 11am till 7pm which allows for invigorating activities such as hiking, bicycling, disc golf, and horseshoes. Other activities, such as the climbing wall and beer garden, will also be available.
“The Mountain Music Festival is a fun way to bring family and friends together for summer activities,” said Schweitzer Events Director, Mary Weber-Quinn. “We are excited to be able to offer this free concert to the public, and combined with great food and activities, it’ll provide guests with a taste of the mountain.”
Lodging is still available which ensures a weekend of fun for the whole family. Schweitzer Mountain Resort offers the Great Escape Package, starting as low as $59 per person per night and comes fully equipped with “Adventure Bucks”, $30 per person per night, which are accepted throughout the resort.
