Schweitzer Mountain Resort to Open Friday
Snowmaking and natural snowfall combine for big opening
Sandpoint, ID – Schweitzer Mountain Resort will open for the season Friday, November 26th at 9am and operate Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the holiday weekend. Top-to-bottom skiing and riding are anticipated, with the Basin Express Quad, Great Escape Quad, Musical Carpet and Musical Chairs Double expected for opening day. The Nordic trail network is also planned for opening day, with several trails expected to be groomed. The resort will be closed midweek following the holiday weekend, re-opening for the first weekend in December.
A combination of significant early season snowfall, coupled with exceptional snowmaking temperatures, will allow for a very strong opening. As of Monday, Schweitzer’s snow depths ranged from 16 inches in the village to over 40 inches up top.
Full day lift ticket prices will be $50 for adults and $40 for juniors ages 7-17. Seniors, college students and military will also be $40 with valid ID. Half-day rates will be $45 for adults and $35 for juniors. The popular “Sunday Solution” afternoon ticket will return for November 28th, with $25 tickets available on-line or $35 at the window. In addition, all of Schweitzer’s passholders, including Sunday through Friday passholders, are invited to enjoy the entire holiday weekend including Saturday.
Lifts are scheduled to operate from 9am to 3:30pm. Updates will be posted on Schweitzer’s website at www.schweitzer.com as additional details are set. Schweitzer’s snow phone will also be updated at 208-263-9562.
