Sandpoint- Set the sun with spinning spokes during Schweitzer’s annual Twilight Race Series.  As bikers young and old thirst for a challenge or friendly competition, Schweitzer quenches that by offering races every Wednesday evening in August, kicking off on the 5th.

Power through these races by yourself or be a team player and compete with three of your friends. All ages and abilities are invited to join. Racers start anytime between 5:30pm and 6:30pm and head out from the Schweitzer village to ride a different course each week. Younger racers who are not ready for the full course can instead join in the free kids races through the village at 6:30pm.

Twilight races also offer an opportunity to test your athletic skills off the pedals by throwing in a challenge course during each race. Challenges change every week and have ranged from climbing a rock wall to lawn games and slack lining in the past.

“The challenges are a blast and set the Twilight series apart from other races you will see,” said Schweitzer Events Manager, Brandon Peterson “It’s a great opportunity to spice the race up and have a lot of fun.”

Racers are invited to cool down with drinks, games and giveaways in the Chimney Rock Grill. Prizes from the sponsors will be awarded at each party, so don’t miss out.

Participants can register for a single race at $15 or the entire series for $50. Four-person teams have an entry fee of $200.  Series riders receive a free gift. Register early ensure a spot! Helmets and mountains bikes are required.
