Explore Your Home Mountain
This January, spend the MLK weekend with us at Schweitzer! Go skiing with the family, enjoy a nice dinner at Chimney Rock and guarantee your ski days! That's right - This winter, if you book your lodging through schweitzer.com, we will guarantee access to purchase lift tickets for the duration of your stay!
Dechutes Golden Keg will be back on the mountain and we will offer a fireworks show on January 16! No need to head to the village as the show should be visible to everyone on the mountain!
It's going to be a great weekend. Go on, make your reservations today!
Northern Light Fireworks
The Northern Lights Fireworks will be launched at 6PM just north of the village on Saturday January 16th! You should be able to see them from most if not all locations around the mountain and our Schweitzer Community.
Deschutes Red Chair Weekend
Deschutes Red Chair Weekend is back and a snow bar will be active near the Clocktower in the village. Stop by and try their annual specialty Black Butte Porter Cocktail featuring cold brewed coffee from Evan’s Brothers & topped with whipped cream. While you’re out skiing during the day, keep your eyes peeled for the elusive Golden Keg. If you’re lucky enough to find it, snap a photo of yourself with it and return to the snow bar and claim your prize from the Deschutes team.
Snow Bar Hours:
- Friday: 11am - close
- Saturday: 11am - through the fireworks show
- Sunday: 11am - close
- Camp Fires in the Village Friday & Saturday Night

Twilight Skiing has been cancelled for MLK Weekend: "Due to an overwhelming lack of compliance with our mask policies and social distancing in the rental shop, day lodge, and the lift lines during Twilight Skiing, I have made the decision that we will not be offering Twilight Skiing over the MLK holiday weekend - Friday, Saturday and Sunday Jan 15-17."
