Winter Trails Day

Explore All Things Nordic

Get off the couch and get on the trails!

The Snowsports Industries of America (SIA) Winter Trails Day is being celebrated at Schweitzer on January 29th, 2022. Winter Trails offers children and adults across the country the chance to try snowshoeing and cross country skiing and to discover the great fitness benefits of these easy-to-learn sports. Over 100 events from coast to coast are planned this year to celebrate Winter Trails over the entire month of January. 

Schweitzer's contribution to Winter Trails includes free trail access for the snowshoe trails and the Nordic ski trails. 

Times
Anytime between 9:00am - 3:30pm to head out on your own. 

Cost
Nordic/ XC trail tickets are FREE! 

You MUST have a pass to access the trails but you can pick them up for free at the Activity Center, Guest Services, or the Ski and Ride Center. 

Rentals
$22 plus taxes/ fees for snowshoes with poles via the Ski and Ride Center

Not sure if you would like snowshoeing? Join us for a quick intro as we walk you through putting on your snowshoes, poles vs no poles, and an intro to the start of the Schweitzer trail system. If you like it, head to the rental shop to rent some shoes and explore on your own! Swing by the Activity Center to sign up on the day of, first come first served.

Please note: No dogs are allowed on Schweitzer's Nordic trails but there are a few trails near the fire station roundabout that allow dogs.
