Change Seasons, Change Gears

Our planned summer opening day is June 14, 2024!

Biking at Schweitzer offers a little bit of something for everyone.  Whether you're a downhill junky, cross country fanatic or just looking for a fun outing on the mountain, you'll find fun trails to explore around the mountain. We offer over 40 miles of trails at Schweitzer. Start in our village and warm your legs up as you head out to Picnic Point to take in the sweeping views of the mountains and Lake Pend Oreille. From there, your options are wide open. For those looking for a downhill thrill, Schweitzer has many intermediate to expert options. All downhill trails begin at the top of the Great Escape Quad and descend 1700' to the Schweitzer Village.

Ready for more vertical? Use the Highpoint Trail to connect Schweitzer to the Little Sand Creek Basin trail system for 4000 vertical feet of fun single track all the way to the valley. Bike rentals are also available through our Rental Shop!

For updated trail conditions, visit our conditions page for the latest info.

E-bikes (Class I ONLY) are allowed on Schweitzer trails. This includes lift-serviced trails (provided the e-bike fits in our loading trays). E-bikes YIELD TO ALL OTHER TRAFFIC ON THE TRAILS.

Important Update for Summer 2023

Direction/Name Change on upper High Point trails

  • The section of upper High Point from the summit to the snow making pond is now be called Bear Grass and is for DOWNHILL TRAFFIC ONLY
  • We have reclaimed the section of trail on the east side of the ridge from the summit to the snow making pond and that will now be High Point (climbing allowed/recommended)
