Opening Day & The Season Ahead

Like many of you, I was hoping to kick off the season on our planned opening day, November 21. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has other plans. We’ve made the tough call to push our target Opening Day to November 28 due to current conditions.

Although we had a few dustings of snow in October, lately we’ve had plenty of rain with overnight lows hovering in the 40s. Snowmaking requires sustained temperatures in the upper teens and low relative humidity, and we have yet to see that come through the region.

The good news? This is just a short-term setback. The long-range forecast shows La Niña continuing to develop, and if the jet stream shifts even slightly, we’ll be buried in feet of snow.

In the meantime, we’re prepared. Our snowmaking pond is full, lift inspections are complete, and we’ve welcomed 650+ team members for the season. While we wait for winter to settle in, take this time to finish those fall projects, get your gear tuned, and maybe sneak in one last bike ride.

We’ll keep you updated—and when the snow comes, we’ll be ready to make this season unforgettable.
