Building the next generation of bikers
Youth mountain bikes are ideals for the smaller riders in your family. Built with dual suspension and responsive hydraulic disc brakes, these high-quality models will have your little ones safely leading the pack on every lap.

Our youth mountain bikes come standard with a traditional open-face helmet. Parents can always choose to upgrade to a full-face helmet along with protective elbow and knee pads for maximum trail protection. Rental equipment is available daily from June 13 - September 7, 2026.

Please Note: Mountain bike rentals do not include chairlift access. Must book at least 24 hours in advance. Maximum rider weight is 270 lbs. Guests may book at the Schweitzer summer repair desk day of if product is still available.

Rocky Mountain Reaper - Youth
Fast, fun, and built to take your riding game to the next level. The Rocky Mountain Reaper has all of the burliness of a full-sized trail bike in a junior-sized package. In three different wheel sizes, the Reaper is the real deal for charging trails and singletrack. Minimum inseam is 20.5” to fit this bike correctly.

Rocky Mountain Altitude Power Play - eBike (not available online)
Schweitzer rental shop offers a handful of the Rocky Mountain Altitude Power Play eBikes. With more power to play with, ride farther and longer than you ever thought possible. Strong motor and great suspension will have you soaking up bumps and rocks all day long. Due to the limited number of available eBikes, all rentals for eBikes are on a first-come, first-served basis at the rental shop.

Yes, all mountain bikers are required to wear helmets. Both standard open-face and full-face helmet rentals are available at the Ski & Ride Center in the VIllage.
While online options are available and encouraged, it is not required. If you're checking online the day of your visit, rentals will not show as available, but that doesn't mean we don't have any bikes available! Simply visit the Ski & Ride Center and an employee will help you with rentals.
Our adult full suspension and youth mountain bikes are fully approved to load onto the chairlift. Cross-country bikes are not allowed on the lift and are intended exclusively for the cross-country trails accessible directly from the Village.
No, mountain bike rentals do not include chairlift access.
Class 1 e-bikes are allowed on our chairlift, size and weight permitting. If you have a question about your e-bike, feel free to ask a lift attendant or employee at the Ski & Ride Center.
Yes, rental bikes can be used on the lower basin trails, but they must be returned to the rental shop by 5:30pm. Guests are responsible for any and all frame damage. Guests are responsible for arranging their transport back to the Village. If you need a ride back to the Village, check out the Schweitzer Mountain Bike Shuttle. Bikes are not allowed to be rented outside of shop hours (10:00am - 5:30pm) and there are no overnight/multi-day rentals at this time.
We do not currently offer overnight or multi-day rentals at this time. All bikes must be returned within shop hours.
