A Free Day on the nordic trails
Join us to celebrate Winter Trails Day! On Saturday, January 25, children and adults have the chance to try snowshoeing and cross country skiing while
discovering the great fitness benefits of these easy-to-learn sports. At Schweitzer, we have always celebrated Winter Trails by contributing free trail access for the snowshoe trails and the Nordic ski trails one day in January. New to Nordic Skiing and Snowshoeing? Visit our pages to learn more aboutetiquette, view trail maps, and more.
Come by anytime between 9:00am - 3:30pm to spend a day on the trails. While this event is free, a ticket is still required! Simply stop by the Activity Center, Guest Services, or the Ski & Ride Center to pick up your free ticket.
Need Snowshoe or Cross Country Rentals? Swing by the Ski & Ride Center! Cross Country packages start at $30 plus tax and Snowshoe Packages start at $25 plus tax.
So, whether you've been Nordic Skiing / Snowshoeing for years or looking to pick up a new hobby, join us for Winter Trails Day! We will even be hosting introductions to snowshoeing at 9:00am and 12:30pm to go over putting on snowshoes, hiking with poles vs. no poles, and an overview of the Schweitzer trail system.
This year, the Sandpoint Nordic Club will be onsite to share more information about the sport and what they do in their program.Sandpoint Nordic Club (SNC) is a local non-profit whose mission is the promotion of cross-country skiing within the Sandpoint community. SNC promotes recreational and competitive activities for skiers of all ages, including a youth program (recreational and race teams) adult instruction, and a school program. We provide access to groomer beginner friendly-trails and affordable rental equipment to the community. We share the love for this lifelong sport and the vast physical, mental, and social benefits for people of all ages.
