Northwest WineFEST at Schweitzer Scheduled for July 15 & 16

3rd Year of Event Brings 80 Different Wines to Sample

Sandpoint, ID (June 27, 2017) – Oenophiles rejoice! It’s time for the region’s premier wine tasting event – Northwest Winefest at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, July 15 &16. “There is so much excitement around the talented wine makers in the Pacific Northwest,” says Mary Weber-Quinn, activities and events director for Schweitzer Mountain Resort. “Being able to host an event that brings them and their wineries together so we can enjoy their creativity makes this my favorite event of the summer.”

The 3rd annual event will take place in the heart of Schweitzer’s village with 20 different wineries featuring over 80 different wines. The event will run from 11-6pm on Saturday and from 11-5pm on Sunday with wine tastings and souvenir glassware available for purchase at the main sales tent. Schweitzer has also lined up an impressive list of free live music to create a festive atmosphere during the event including Kevin Dorin, Brown Salmon Truck and Scarlet Parke on Saturday then The Hawthorne Roots and Adrian Xavier on Sunday. 

“You don’t have to take part in the tastings to enjoy the free live music, visit the arts & crafts vendors or buy some tasty treats,” adds Weber-Quinn. “Schweitzer’s daily summer activities will be available all weekend long too and that includes the zip line, Monkey Motion Air Jumper, climbing wall and lift served downhill mountain biking. Sunday morning, you can even take part in our cross-country mountain bike race before getting comfy on the lawn for the afternoon festivities. All in all, it’s a great weekend for the whole family.”
