Schweitzer Mountain Resort Announces New Mountain Operations Director

Resort Also Promotes New Culinary Managers in Food & Beverage

Schweitzer Mountain Resort is pleased to announce the appointment of Rob Batchelder as the resort’s new Director of Mountain Operations. Batchelder previously worked as the Mountain Operations Director for Waterville Valley, NH as well as holding a variety of other roles in the outdoor recreation industry. “Rob’s industry experience at Waterville Valley coupled with his finance and hospitality background are a great match for our operating team,” says CEO of Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Tom Chasse. “His passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors is a great fit with our approach in creating the ‘Schweitzer Difference.’ We look forward to welcoming Rob, his wife Kim and son Asa to our community and mountain family.” Batchelder will transition into the director role alongside Schweitzer’s current Mountain Operations Director, Bill Williamson. Williamson will retire in April 2018 after 13 years with the resort.

Schweitzer has also announced a few changes in the resort’s culinary team with the promotion of Richard Nakatani to the Lakeview Food & Beverage Manager position while Jordan Hansen will assume the responsibilities as Chef of Sky House. Hansen will co-manage Schweitzer’s summit dining experience with Michelle Moss, who has been with Schweitzer for three years. The Chimney Rock Grill Manager, Kellie Pierce, is also proud to announce that Robert Stiers had been promoted to Chimney Rock Head Chef.

“Our internal and external appointments are bringing some great energy and enthusiasm to the mountain,” added Chasse. “It’s always exciting to watch our Schweitzer management team continue to grow in such a positive way.”
